Why choose this tour?

Nomadic Journey

This unique camel-riding expedition offers a rare opportunity to experience the Mongolian Gobi in a truly authentic and immersive way. Rather than simply visiting the desert, you will travel slowly across the landscape like the nomads have done for centuries — by camel.

Hidden Places

Guided by experienced local camel herders, this journey takes you deep into the remote southern side of the Khongor Sand Dunes, far from the usual tourist routes. Traveling with camels allows you to fully appreciate the peaceful rhythm of the desert, the endless horizons, and the extraordinary silence of the Gobi.

Cultural Connection

Along the way, you will meet local nomadic families, sleep under vast star-filled skies, and experience daily life in one of the world’s last great nomadic cultures. Your participation also directly supports local herder communities through camel rental and guiding services.

Meaningful Adventure

Combined with Mongolia’s cultural highlights, stunning desert landscapes, and comfortable ger camp stays, this journey is ideal for travelers seeking meaningful adventure, cultural connection, and unforgettable memories.

Day 2|Flight to the Gobi & Khongor Sand Dunes

Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Dalanzadgad, the capital of South Gobi Province.

Flight: Ulaanbaatar – DalanzadgadMR111 | 06:20 – 07:40

Upon arrival, drive to the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes, also known as the “Singing Dunes.” Stretching over 180 km in length and reaching heights of up to 300 meters, these dunes are among Mongolia’s most impressive natural wonders.

When the sand shifts in the wind or during small avalanches, the dunes produce a mysterious resonant sound, giving rise to the name “Singing Sands.” The contrast between the golden dunes, green oasis of the Khongoriin River, and surrounding mountains creates one of the Gobi’s most stunning landscapes.

Meet local camel herders and enjoy the peaceful desert environment.
